Biochemistry Core Facility

Overview of Services

The Biochemistry Core provides service and consultation with expertise in biochemical enzyme/protein purification and assay to investigators.

The Core currently features 1) two LC/MS systems (Electra and Arthur) to detect the accurate mass of intact protein, peptide or small molecule, 2) HPLCs equipped with a radiochemical detector or a fluorescence detector that allow a purification of enzyme or protein labeled with radioisotope or fluorescence probe, 3) SpeedVac concentrator for the radioactive molecule, and 4) Atomic absorption spectrometer to measure metal content.

Most equipments are “walk-up” equipments after training by the Core staff.
